    Default Trec help - maypole

I have a copy of the rulebook and just incase i get the maypole, what exactly do i have to do? There appears to be a small area of the circle where you pick up and drop the rope, do you need to be stationary/walking to pick up the rope, or do you need to be in your chosen pace? How many times will you need to go round the maypole?

you stop to pick up the rope. There is then a strat point and you have to be in your chosen gait, you go round once and usually stop to put it back on the same place. Ours had a circle we weren't allowed to go out of

Your aiming for the rope not to be too slack and deffo dont let it touch the floor, as Wibble said you do one full circle

I only done it in walk

We made a practice one at home - OH cut down a broom handle, cut a circular hole in a small square of wood and slotted the broom handle through. He then put a nail in the broom handle either side of where it slotted throught the wooden square. The broom handle then slots into the top of a tall traffic cone and the wooden square stops it falling too far in. We have one of these in the centre of the circle and one on the outside. a lunge line with a loop in eache end hooks over the 2 broom handles and voila - you have a maypole
