    I'd love to do it properly. I've had the odd sit on but nothing serious.

    It's like anything, If you are shown and it's explained to you what you are trying to acheive, it's a lot easier. But it does take time to accustom your body to the differences.

    And more so than astride riding, the sadlde will make or break you as a rider. A badly balanced side saddle is a back killer for the rider and the horse.

    I so want to learn to ride side saddle, I planning on booking a lesson for november.
    My Plan is to have lessons then get a saddle for my charlie horse.

    Whatever you do, don't buy one of those black ones that are on sale on E-bay. They are a disaster.

    DITTO THAT!

    I am desperate to try side-saddle as I am getting more and more pain from astride-riding. But the cost of the saddles sadly means...not in this lifetime. It's a shame - I think Kicsi would be perfect for me to ride side-saddle.

    How tall are you Wally? I always worry that I'm too tall for anything under 16.2hh side-saddle - You look really good on both of those two.
