    Default cleaning a bowler hat

A fellow livery has very kindly lent me a bowler for my side saddle show. Its very dusty and a bit dirty, does anyone have any good suggestions about how I would clean it? She mentioned something about steaming it in a dishwasher but I am too scared.

    Thanks

Boiling kettle and a soft brush and gently, very VERY carefully steam and flick off the dust. Don't let the steam got it too wet.....slighty damp is okay, then stuff it with paper and let it dry.

that's how I always do mine, Dish washer steam is a bit too much.
