Thread: backed and ready to be ridden away-advice please.

    I would say at this point a horse needs to learn to go forwards. No schooling,thats just too boring and the mental stamina wont be the greatest. make it enjoyable, go out with other horses for a good 30 minutes, let the horses see new sights and just get used to having someone up top. Do this about 4 times a week. Next spring introduce schooling when the horse is more able to take it in. Right now is just about going forwards, being safe and having fun. I mean we go to play group before we start big school where the serious work begins, let our horses do the same.
