Default Those of you with ex-racehorses, how are they bred?

This has probably been done before but I find it really interesting. And was just having another look at Major's breeding - he looks a lot like his sire. Here are a few of Major's family, mostly his sire's as his dams is hard to find. -

    Major himself...

    Pivotal - his sire.

Polar Falcon his grandsire (sires side) -

Nureyev his great grandsire (sires side) -

And northern dancer, great, great grandsire! (sires side)

    Darshaan Grandsire (dams side) -

He has some successful siblings too, but wasn't too successful himself.

Anyone else looked in to their racehorses breeding?

My girl Maddie (Madams Walk) was by Ardross, out of Emily Kent. I think she looked quite similar to her sire.

    Here's Maddie

I've got a big family tree that I put together for Salsa on the wall, and I've got a load more photographs of his ancestors that I've tracked down somewhere. His sire was Salse and his dam was Lana Turrel.

    Pedigree

    My lovely lad

He's Northern Dancer stock as well, on both sides (sire's grandfather and dam's great-grandfather).

We think this is Salse, his father

    Trempolino, his maternal grandfather.

We think this is Geisha, his maternal great, great, great, great grandmother.

I don't have pics of his dam, but his sire is LeMoss. I don't know much about 'big names' in the TB world, so here's his pedigree for anyone interested.

Although Charm isn't an ex racer she is out of very good stock.

Her great sire (all dam side) is a horse called little wolf. Spartan Missile, and further back Grundy then nearco, nasarullah

Her dams pedigree can been seen under Chetwood Lass on all breed pedigree
