Good confidence giving start to the season!
Well done![]()
Yay first one of the season!!
The day didn't start off great as there was a big accident on the motorway which delayed us and then we got stuck trying to park so had to wait to be towed in, which meant I was late for my dressage and arrived as the person before me was just starting their test!
So with only a few minutes to prepare he was still a little too fresh going into the test so jogged in his walk and cantered in his trot, however the judge was still kind enough to award us a 34.
Show Jumping he was great, if a little spooky, but he jumped a fab clear.
Now I'd told myself from the beginning that I was going to run slow no matter what mark I was on, mainly because he needs a bit of a confidence round but also the ground was very wet. He was a very brave pony, had a couple of hesitations but continued all the same. I'm not bothered if he wants to look, trot into it or whatever as long as he goes when I say to. I'd rather have 100 time faults and let him enjoy it than try for time and scare him, which I think I've made the mistake of in the past! So he gave me a lovely ride and finished clear with about 25 time, but double clear all the same!

Oh how I miss you, my symphony, played the song that carried you out.
Well done!Have heard the ground wasn't great so sounds like you did the right thing taking it slowly - there's plenty more events for going for the placings later on in the year!
Where are you off to next?![]()
Great start to your season! As you say, no point creating problems at the start of the season with pushing for time. Can't wait to get going myself!!
