Default Dressage and Showjumping with Hattie

Well this morning I took Hattie to The South Downs Bloodhounds local show and we had a great time. hattie was a bit reluctant to load which bothered me a bit as usually she is really good, but it only too 5 mins and the journey was very short.

The first class we did was Prelim 7 on grass which was the first time we've done a test on grass. Hattie was very chilled but spooked a bit at the judge's car and didn't want to go towards it when we entered the arena. the test went well and we went off to change my saddle and check the clear round out.

Clear round jumps were pretty small, but Hattie spooked and refused a few the first time round, but the second time she got more into the swing of things but still knocked one down so no rosette.

Then it was the 2 -2'3 SJ class, after the not so great clear round I was hopefully of doing maybe the first 3 jumps as they were the smallest. We were on 5th and Hattie decided that she was getting a taste for jumping, she was absolutely brilliant although we lost steering a bit and nearly hit the hedge and I lost a stirrup when we disagreed as to which way we were going. I was a bit out of breath and took a moment to trot and collect ourselves, we then did the last 3 jumps but we knocked a pole. I was so pleased with Hattie for attempting all the jumps - she was such a star!

Then we untacked and went to get the dressage results, there were 8 in the class was I was hopeful of a placing, but thrilled to bits to get 1st and 73%

Hattie loaded like an angel to go home, I think we had both had fun.

Sorry no photos but a video of the dressage.
