Default Changing From Feet To Cms

Why did it change and does anyone else get confused?
We are doing about 1.9 so what's that apart from tiny in cms then?

2ft is a smidge over 60cm I think, so that must be about right?

I have seen competitions saying 40cm, 50, 55 and 60. So if I went in 55cms its just under and 60 its over then?

    30cm to a foot, so 60cm is 2ft

Its been like that for as long as i can remember over here, our unaffiliated courses usually start with x poles for the tiny tots then 50,60,70,80,90, 1m and 1.10 etc... So if your jumping 1ft 9 then 50 cms is your closest height.

Later on in the year we maybe bigger at home, but for a competition it sounds better to go smaller so start at 50 unless they will let me go smaller.
Its her first time out anywhere.
