I love Nightwish- my sister introduced me to them when I was a young teen (she flew to Helsinki with friends to see them live, I was rather envious
).
I find it really hard to sum up any favourites - either bands or singers - not because I'm a music buff (rather the opposite) but because I like almost anything and everything, my taste is so broad it's pretty much unidentifiable. My iPod can skip from A-Ha to Led Zeppelin to Elvis to Schubert to One Direction
. I find there are very few genres I actively dislike (not really a rap or garage fan) - if I like the noise I listen regardless of how good or bad the musicians involved are argued to be
.
For the past few months I've been in a golden oldie phase musically though and I seem to be playing nothing but Al Bowlly, whose name sadly isn't half as widely recognised as it deserves to be. I could (and often do) listen to him every day, his voice has wonderful sincerity and is a glimpse into the history of modern music.
