    Default Another Hunter Trial Report

Sunday I took Leo to our first solo attempt at a hunter trial (previous one is about 2 threads down on this page). We did the 2ft3 to 2ft6 and it was at a venue I go to quite frequently for schooling/RC clinics so I knew everything there would be well within our abillities. It actually wasn't massively up to height with most the fences being around the 2ft3 mark.

Arrived in plenty of time, too much time really, they were running late so I was on about 45mins before I needed to be. It was cold so I just wandered about on a loose rein and watched others go whilst I was waiting. Eventually warmed him up, he was a bit excited (few rears appeared!) as there were lots of people about and I think he thought we were going on a fun ride. Once he realised he wasn't allowed to go galloping with all the others he settled down, popped a couple of warm up fences and made our way to the start box.

He jumped a fab round, had a look at the house but he always backs off a bit at houses, I just rode him positively and we didn't have any issues at all. So pleased with him, everyone needs a ginger pony . We ended on a clear round, no idea if we were placed as they were still sorting the results when I left. Got a bit cold waiting around and needed a hot chocolate at that point.

    And now to the pictures!

Thanks all He was briliant, couldn't fault him.

Results are up and no placing this time, I think probably we just weren't fast enough (big class of about 35, most of which went clear) as I had to trot through the wooded areas and it was a bit wet in places so I didn't push him on in places. Still, I didn't take him to win and he did me proud
