Today Bobby's sharer rode and she did a fab job. Bobby was so forward and switched on it was lovely to watch! We then went for a walk to cool off and he was a dude as per usual
She did lots of walk halt and trot walk transitions. He is getting sharper off the leg every the we ride
So last night I rode Bobby. He was really lovely and forward! Still not cantered but think i might in my lesson on Sunday.
Anyway! We tried trotting poles and he was a dude! He's not happy in the Wilkie so I'm going to change him into hanging cheek or loose ring snaffle

He is super super super!
Mine have always been most settled in loose ring sweet iron snaffle with copper losenge. Those metals are quite warm in winter as well which helps.

Can't believe this diary is 2 years old. Feels like only yesterday. He is lovely and a real credit to your patience

So we had another lesson today (pics on big camera) he was great! Rode him straight from a night in for the first time. It was interesting! He was on one! Lol he bucked as soon as I put my leg on! Naughty pone! My instructor is so amazing that he said for the first 10 mins to keep my leg off. We walked and trotted large and as soon as we started doing circles I started putting my legs on. My position wasn't great today but I am struggling with my back after jumping the other day.
We worked on serpentines 20m circles 10m circles and drifting on and out on 20m circle
He really bends to the right. Left he's still a bit wooden. Really looking forward to moving on and getting to bobby's holiday without any major hiccups!!!
Oh yeah I've had bobby 2 years today too :-)

So I'm now feeling better so yesterday after 10 days off I tacked up, quickly gave him a spin on the lunge and then hopped on. He was wonderful and even finished with our first canter!!!! I love him!

Yesterday I was reminded that bobby is only a baby and every time you ride a baby you can have something different!
Went for our usual hack to the pub. Bobby was dreadful! Kept stopping backing up, trying to spin and grinding to a halt. When I got after him he bucked. This happened all the way to the pub.
On the way he he was fab!!!

Got back to the yard and went to take him in the school just to walk him about a bit. As soon as I asked him to go through the gate way he reared :-( I got straight after him which was followed by a buck and at that point I wasn't having any of it so he did 20 mins of trot work in which he tried EVERYTHING to get out of it!
I think he learnt his lesson though!
