    Default The future is changing!

I received a letter the other day from my consultant. My acromegaly(pituitary tumour) is finally in full remission!! I'm surprised by this result and didn't think it possible! Of course I am thrilled and changes everything - I should expect a much more fulfilled life...ok on meds for the rest of my life and need to investigate the growth hormone deficiency, but no more tumour is such a life changing feeling that gives so much more hope for the future!

Fantastic! I have a microadenoma on my pituitary, mainly harmless but gives me blinding headaches at times and it affected my milk supply when I was trying to breastfeed my daughter.

Wow, can't say I have come across many people with a pituitary tumour. Mine was a macroadema and was very aggressive - I can relate to the massive headaches but I also got double vision when it grew and pressed on my optic nerve...that's when the call for radiotherapy was made (that and it was wrapped around my carotid artery).
I have to admit I know I'm very lucky to have had such a high success rate...for that I can certainly live with the meds! Xx
