Default Bobby's life with a saddle on board!

So in march stephibean came and helped introduce Bobby to a rider. I had leant over him and sat on him but without a strong equestrian person on the floor I felt vulnerable. So I put a call into Stephibean and she came down and did the riding whilst I helped from the ground.
Yes we have a green wobbly baby who really struggled to walk in anything that resembled a straight line and at the first moment he felt his rider was wobbling (stephibean wasn't she was just moving her weight around in the saddle) he ground to a very firm stop.
Stephibean hacked him down the lane me in tow on the lunge line and again he was very wobbly but not bothered by it.

Fast forward to yesterday. Last few weeks I've been trying to sort a saddle. Trying numerous on him and not being happy. The other livery happened to mention that she had one sitting around at home that didn't quite fit her horse. Now her horse has a table top back. Just the make up of that particular horse. So I thought it had no hope of fitting.
When I saw it I chucked it on quick and said to myself no it doesn't fit but yesterday tried it again with a saddle pad. Much better fit. Lunged in it. It stayed put. So grabbed hat and gloves, lengthened stirrup and leant over him. Stayed there a sec. Swung leg over and sat up.
Great! I hopped off, got my sharer J to pop hat and BP on and then on she got. Lead her around a little bit. Bobby was again green and wobbly but you could actually see him figuring it out and progressing! They did a couple of laps in walk on each rein yesterday

Today I dug the air jacket out for J and on she hopped. Bobby knew what to and walked off strongly and confidently.

Did some halt-walk traditions changed rein and same again and that was enough for today.
I love watching how quickly he picks it all up!

So I'm currently on a desperate diet just want to shed 5-6kg and we'll start taking it in turns to do the ridden work but for now he is happy with J on his back and I'm happy on the ground!
    Pics!

Bless him he looks like he's taking it all in his stride. Is it just me or the angle of pics that makes him look a little bum high in some pics? Maybe more growing from bobs?
