I am torn between the two, any advice? I have a cob and a Shetland.

I couldn't advise as I haven't had either, I have always really liked liveryman or wolseley clippers. Shetlands you would need coarse blades as they do have a tendency to blunt the blades really quickly...

Out of interest, why do you need to clip a Shetland?

I can't help with the Masterclip ones but I do have the Heiniger Xplorers and so far am very pleased with them. I've done approx. 4 chaser clips and one full clip on a very thick haired cob and they were great including over his back where clippers tend to struggle. I went for them when I needed some battery ones after having a set of Heiniger Handys which are still going strong after 17 years, hope these last as long!
